This is such an amazing inspiring book, Lacey has an amazing story about gods grace and a fathers love. her words have a way of going straight to you heart, I found my self laughing and crying with her as i felt the joy and pain in her words. much like her music she poured her soul into this book, and you can tell. Thank you Lacey for sharing you story

A very powerful book

This is such a powerful book. I could not put it down. There is so much wisdom in it. Lacey Sturm is honest and open about her life. Her story and testimony of God's grace touched me deeply, and I am much older than Lacey. I have not experienced everything that she did; I am not of her generation. But the book really convicted me about how I look at others. Lacey has shown us that we must see people through the eyes of Jesus and look beyond outward appearance, which often hides the desperation, anger, and hurt. Even though we may not be able to relate to everything someone is going through, we are nevertheless called by our Lord to show love and compassion toward those who are in pain.

I pray that Lacey's book would be used greatly in helping those who came from similar, painful backgrounds. I pray that it will help us recognize the hurt of those who are struggling with so many issues, those who have no father, those who have experienced abuse, and those who believe their lives are hopeless.

I pray that Lacey's book would also impact those of us who have not come from a background such as hers, to give us a heart for those who are hurting.

I was drunk and this book helped me sober up, kind of?

I'll be honest, I bought this on an impulse after downing half of an eight pack of bud light hurricanes. I then proceeded to down two more drinks while contently reading the kindle version of this book. Minutes turned to hours and after a quick trip to the bathroom where I proceeded to feel death come for me in the usual over dramatized fashion of the human body saying "STOP, SERIOUS DUDE. STOP" I went back and cried silently as I continued to read.

This book has a lot of heart and offers it in a well presented formatting of paragraphs and chapter layout along with minor illustrations that help convey an emotion from the reader. The book begins with some background information of Lacey and is presented with several memories of hers that go from beautiful moments of childhood wonder and the struggles of growing up along with a different perspective of growing up. There's some moments that go along the lines of "my mother was great" and then you have that sweet attitude that speaks up from time to time, a personal accenting of an idea by the author herself that adds a rich texture to her story that is so relatable and engrossing while never going too far or giving too little. It's the right amount of love, like a mothers apple pie. Sweet and plentiful but, the baker herself exercises tactful moderation not to give her children false assumptions but instead merely to show the extent of her love for not only herself.

Ideally, this is the book to read if you want to read a journey of a young girl becoming a modest woman who defines herself while still loving and respecting the lord above.

I'm not a Christian, I still can't look at a church without gagging but, this book made me want to reconsider my blind hatred. That's something that none of my friends or outsiders have given me. I would highly recommend this book to any list of mom and pop approved reading material for young adults and even grown adults alike.

No need to have a low self-esteem any longer!

This book is just packed with a wealth of information that anyone with a low self-esteem or anyone who knows someone with low self-esteem needs to read. The book goes through everything you need to improve your situation right away.

Alan explores what self-esteem is exactly and the negative impact it has on your life. In addition, he covers how we view ourselves impacts how we view others. The big take away is that you need to move from whining about your current situation and start acting. That is the key to breaking out of this negative cycle. Definitely recommend this one!

Great publication that will help you to have a good self steem

A good self-esteem is very important for a good mental health. With a good self-steem our relationships become more pleasant, we are more confort with our self when interacting with others because you don't need the approval of other people. Also, a common mistake is that if we make mistakes and requieres a good self-steem to admit your faults and overcome this situations without feeling bad about it.

This book will help you to understand that beside your background or education, you need to overcome many mistakes, the guilt, competition, perfectionism, bad habits, looking up to others, etc.

This is a great book and will help you to have a good self-steem in order to became a happy and healthy person.

"We believe that perfection is just around the corner"

A practical definition and exploration on self esteem is illustrated on this book. Writer went into very specific analysis on deciphering what causes or triggers the aspects of self esteem within ourselves in the chapter "The Depth of Low Self Esteem". I was very thrilled to read about the part where it co-related competition as a root culprit of low self esteem. It went on to explain how competition is affecting our true ability to cultivate the best and making us only aware of the comparison of success in respect of others.
As I consider myself kind of a perfectionist, the book had surprises for me, I won't share the thought, but my review title tells a little.

Excellent Social History

I had to buy this book for a college class and I have to say that I am very impressed. Through a series of essays and primary accounts a social history of the age is brought forth, dealing with such subjects as The New South, African-American Politics Under Jim Crow, and Progressivism. These essays, by historians such as Richard Hofstadter and C. Vann Woodward, and first-hand accounts, from such notable people as W.E.B. Dubois, Carl Sandburg, Booker T. Washington, William Jennings Bryan, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, presents a history devoid of all the wars and politics of the upper elite, but instead focuses on more social issues and the everyday American. Many topics are dealt with in this book and it shows just how complex American society was in this changing time.

A Work Of Art, by a Master JFK Researcher and Author of 20 books.

Continuing the 2001 11 Volume set of books " Oswald's Closest Friend, The George De Mohrenschildt Story,", by Bruce Campbell Adamson, the author uses some of his photographs and rare snippets to make this work of art a "Signed Masterpiece". Not only do we see photos of documents showing that Clay Shaw was a highly paid asset of the CIA, as Jim Garrison had suspected, validating the premise of Oliver Stone's movie, "JFK", but we also find out that Paul Rothermel was a mole on the staff of H.L. Hunt, while reporting directly to his handlers in Langley. He even fooled Harold Weisberg into trusting him, sending his every letter directly to CIA headquarters. Jack White was also fooled by Paul Rothermel, sending a very interesting letter and employment application on April 28, 1968. All of the documents are photographed and add to the authenticity of this gem of a book.

"This book is a revelation and a page-turner."

This statement by Dick Gregory appears on the cover of Our Man in Haiti and is both succinct and accurate.

Anyone interested in George de Mohrenschildt, the Kennedy assassination, the covert actions of CIA in the Caribbean, and/or the historical exploitation of the Haitian people will find Joan Mellen's book to be of value.

My only pause is wondering if the documents sourced by the author always justify her conclusions. Still, this book is a solid five-star effort and leaves one eager for the next two books by Joan Mellen, scheduled to be published next year.

Been a Long Time Waiting!

The subject of this title, George de Mohrenschildt, is a subject that few people (if any) have attempted to write a thesis about. de Mohrenschildt, being a major player in the JF assassination role has virtually been ignored - until now! Trine Day, has now stepped up to the plate, along with Joan Mellen.

What a terrific combination! TrineDay and Joan Mellen!

Joan Mellen, and her extensive determination, gives us a very valuable look at de Mohrenschildt! And, boy is it good! And, welcome! Just as she has done with her Garrison title, Marilyn Monroe expose, and many other non-fiction titles, Mellen does a superb job of letting us know a little more about George. And, face it, we've been waiting a long time.

Joan, who I spoke with about the book a week ago, uses a lot of expertise from people who I know to be able and competent information sources, i.e. Gordon Winslow and Gaeton Fonzi, who just passed away.

One of the great things about this title is Joan's look at De Mohrenschildt and his CIA connections. Every JFK researcher knows about his CIA connections, but until now, we never knew the extent. Joan takes care of that.

Was George Oswald's CIA handler? Did George really look after Lee and Marina when they came back from the U.S.S.R.? Did George have other CIA connections?
